Right now with pin 5 bias voltage at -33 I'm at 50mA but I could subtract the 2.06 screen voltage an still in safe range but at end of bias pot adjustment.
What's the significance of obtaining -33v?
With my amp ,i biased my amp around -28v, and the tubes are running at 44mA.
Is it merely a novelty to have it run at -33, or does it have an effect on the sound. Is there something magical that happens?
rj I'm thinking it might be the fact that I replaced the .0022uf with .0033uf.
The other coupling caps are all stock values. Not sure why it is darker but I like being able to use the treble and mid controls as well as the bright switch.
Not sure why but my other Express amps are way brighter.
As far as bias just fine the sweet spot for your tubes within safe bias range.

Happened to me once, too. Spent a few days swapping parts.
Whew, that first cup of coffee didn't work. I was reading down the thread and thought I read that you spent a few days swapping PANTS.
Yeah, new strings are a beautiful thing. I used to change strings at least every few days.
P.S. Mark, the strain relief is installed backwards to the common implementation. On the other hand, it should still grip well, and performs the desired function with a less obtrusive look. That is to say that it looks weird to me, but is not a "wrong" answer.

Almost spit my coffee out reading this....lol
Beautiful build(s) Mark congrats
Mark whats your verdict on the (rockingclass) iron you used?
fwiw I vote for your implementation of the strain relief.
So in other words there is no correct way to install?
I think the Rocking Class Pacific transformers are the same in value/workmanship/tone as other Pacific transformers I've bought from Allynmey and rjguitars.
