Express Schematic B+1 voltage setting
On the express schematic it looks like R23 and R24 are being used as a shunt regulator to set the B+1 voltage to +395VDC. My question is how much tolerance is there in setting this voltage? I understand that too high would not be good and too low would not be good. So what range of B+1 voltage covers the sweet spot for the output tubes? (I plan to use some El34s)

Re: Express Schematic B+1 voltage setting
Those resistors have very little effect on the B+ voltage. They are there to act as bleeders to drain the reservoir when the power is switched off. Tolerance? +/- 5% would be pretty good, so +/-20V? Your line voltage probably varies enough to account for that much B+ variation.

thanks!, bleed resistors that makes a lot more sense.
