I would guess that is a decent set of iron for a Fender Tweed circuit, but I would recommend either going with Moose's iron or buying old Stancor off of ebay. The OT impedence isn't close and KF's PT philosophy would indicate a bigger piece...i.e. more B+ current capacity (300mA or more).

[edit]Allyn's right. Dynaco. New factioid for me.

+1 on Mooses iron or a Dynaco A-470 from Ebay! I don't like the BBQBoy Iron. Look at the new 100w orange clone he is advertising. The iron looks like it's for a 10 watt amp!

What is the ideal current/voltage specs for a TW?

Post by RJ Guitars »

I'm curious if anyone has the best available info on the current and voltage specs to clone a Rocket, Liverpool, or Express... I assume each of them are different but is there a consensus toward each? I have a few pieces of old iron including a mammoth 325-0-325 Stancor. I was thinking this was a bit too hot for a Liverpool... am I right?

For Rocket, I use the standard wreck iron, 300VAC into a 5AR4 recto and the 5.2k OT.

For liverpool, 250VAC.
