blackface tonestack values in a express

Post by riscado »

Has anyone tried using blackface tonestack values in an express?

(0.047uf instead of 0.022uf, 0.1uf instead of 0.022uf, 250p instead of 500p and the 10k mid potenciometer instead of the 25k)

I don't know, but on the first Trainwreck build I did, a very knowledgeable and locally respected guitarist (who has used most all brands of amps), said "finally, an amp where the tone controls do something!" He expanded his comment to explain he liked the frequency centers and range of tone control very much.

I suppose you're talking about the stock values...

Yeah, they really work well with most guitars.

Yeah I've tried emulating it with tonestack calculator and I did like the sweep response, but I guess I'll only learn for sure once the build is finished!

Thanks for your input
