That sucks. I know they sell the end bells, which is only a couple extra bucks. What I don't get is they say that this one is for horizontal mounting, but it looks like they just laid a vertical one on its side. :?

At some point they might offer a z-mounting option. But I kinda agree with them from a quality point of view. From their forums:

We are looking into a way of "Z" mounting. One of the problems is that we do not like having windings on the same side of the bobbin, across from each other. We prefer to have them on opposite sides of the core. This is a manufacturing and quality issue. I will try to get some images of the different types and post it as soon as I can get them.

I agree with Edcor as well keep it blue and vertical mounting. I was just trying to fit a Edcor PT to a chassis with a PT cutout. I prefer blank chassis and punch my own anyway so it works for me.

Passed the smoke test! Roared it first breath with the howl of positive feedback. After switching the OT leads, I biased 'er up to 2.6 watts per triode. And then a sinking feeling as nothing came out at all when the volume was opened up.

Then I remembered the tone sack was all set to 0 (Doh!). Dang this thing is LOUD. I'll have to attach an attenuator and or bring it to our practice space. First impressions, this is the best sounding clean amp I own. It does do a bit of clean from between say 0 and 1. Very chimey and that one cap on the bright switch is kinda cool. Makes a gibson sound like a tele.

ampmike is making a cabinet for her. I'll post a final picture and a sound clip when everything is totally finished.

Thanks for all the comments folks! I recruited the only guitar player I could easily get and made a sound clip. If you can get beyond his clunky playing (and what youtube does to audio) I'd be interested on what you think.
