Example Beatles "Tax Man" George uses less than four note chords the whole song. Nature of the beast.
I wouldn't say my experience with it is quite that extensively bad, there are qualities I love about it. I'm pretty sure some of my dislike has to do with my tube selection. I need to roll. And there is that thing it does when I dime the volume... It gets very loose sounding, chords don't really hold together. I really need to fiddle with it. :?

If you like experimenting, try a 680r cathode bias in the ltpi instead of 1k2 . This warms the bias up. Also use 10k to 47k grid stoppers in el84's , this will smooth the distortion a bit, if you like to dime it, a solid state rect. help with any sagging. I guess Brian May adds a Large choke before the rocket choke and after the resevoir cap (BIG AND EXPENSIVE) to help with ghost notes. I heard you can plug one in the ac socket next to the amp and it will work, havn't tried it myself.
