Derailment layout check

Post by galtjunk »

I have created a board layout for the Derailment schematic found in the schematics section. I will be trying to stuff this into a Marshall Mini Stack Head. The schematic calls for 1 47uf and 3 20uf power supply caps. Can I use a JJ 40,20,20,20 to save space? I will draw up the power supply when I decide how to build it.

Could someone please check my work.

Thanks,

Steve

You can use the capcan with no issues. I almost went that route on my latest build. Definitely a space saver.

If you're talking Lead 12, it's going to take an unorthodox chassis design to fit it in there.

I'll probably have to lay the tubes down to make it fit.

Looks like your pots are wired backwards!

Backwards pots

I guess I was standing on my head when I drew the pots.
Does this look better?

The Middle and Bass pot are still wrong. I will try to edit it tonight when I get home from work. If you want, you can download the cereiatone drawings for the express and fix it there. Just remember that the tone stack listed on your board is layout in reverse with the treble cap last. I amp making a derailment now and will post pics probably tomorrow.

Hi,

what is derailment? A sort of express in small wattage?
I love the sound of my clone and if there is something that have the same feeling but with 1-5 W I'll make it!

Here are the pots wired from the express layout. This is from Ritchies Layout.

I thought I had it wired correctly according to the attached schematic but I have a terrible time figuring out how to wire the pots.
