Hi all, I just chatted with Mike of Komboking chassis - he's back in business again and another source of custom-sized chassis, for those of you willing to do the punching and drilling yourselves!

I just recently had Nik do up an Express and a Liverpool chassis for me and they look great! I had him use the chassis dimensions from the files section. The only thing that i had to do was widen the pilot hole a bit because I only had a 120v lamp from Metroamp and didn't want to wait for a new one and i had to widen the imp. selector hole because my switch was a tad bit bigger than the hole size. Other than that they look great! I think i paid $120 shipped for both of them.

Thanks,

Andy

I have been exchanging emails with Mike at Komboking about making me a TW express chassis. I just sent him the specs and am waiting on a price. I am going to try and have him bring it to the Columbus Ohio Guitar show on Jan 15.

http://www.ohioguitarshows.com/ Anyone else going to be there??

I Don't mind drilling and punching and will post some pics when I get it.

Mike will be at the show. He is sharing a table with someone (can't remember right now) Plexi and myself will also have a table setup. If you make it stop by and see us. Might even have my Junkyard Express there.

Fellow Buckeyes? Just curious where you guys are located. I'm from the west side of Cleveland (and OSU grad). Won't be able to make the show since I'll be in Athens, OH that weekend visiting friends. I haven't been the Columbus show since probably 1996. Is it still a big show?

I live just west of Huntington WV on the WV / KY line. Columbus is just about 150 miles for me. So you will have to count me as a Mountaineer and not a Buckeye. If you follow the link in my previous post there is a picture of the floor at the show. It's billed as one of the best shows in the Midwest. I haven't been since about 1993 so this will be a treat for me to maybe get to meet some of the members here and on the 18watt site.

Yeah, it's me

Is that you Dave? Sorry if I got it wrong.

I joined the group when it first started on Yahoo and just dropped off the radar. I checked it out just before the new year and found that there has been a great amount of progress being made here. :D

Yeah, it's Dave here... Glad to see you resurface. Your new amps look and sound really cool. I keep seeing them rank well at the various Tonefest gatherings.

So have you got a wreck build in the works these days or are you just focusing on the new amp line?

Build

Post by Bombay »

Hey Dave,

I may build one for myself. I have always liked the Trainwreck amp and was lucky enough to get inside of one.

I don't know if I would build one for sale or not, maybe on a special order or something. I am thinking of doing a low voltage EL34 amp though which could be thought of as Wreck based.
