Well, my band has finally posted a mix of one of the songs we did many months ago. So, it's a strat, two different strats actually, straight into the amp. I wasn't involved in the mix (kind of sounds like Cheap Trick to me ) so I don't know if it was eq'd/compressed etc.
Great song! I wish the guitar was more cranked up, though. Nice crunch and clarity, with a smooooth overdrive sound. What pickup combination were you using for the solo?
Thanks, Jake. I agree with you on the mix. But since I didn't write these songs, I stay out of it. The solo was definitely bridge and middle on the strat.

The song has a great pop hook going.
But the mix imo needs a little work
The guitar needs a push, perhaps a harder pan to one side and more volume and the drums need more kick in the midrange and bass
