speaker choice for asteroid ?

for those who have built one of these ,given the distinct voicing and volume level of this amp what are you running for cab / speakers ? cheers

Depends on what style you play.

Custom 2x12 cab with Scumback M75/s : lots of gritty breakup , great for hard rock and heavy metal

TL806'swith EV12L's : clean loud rock and blues ala Styx , Kansas . Lots of mid bite and honk if you want.

Custom 2x12 cab with vintage Hammond Rola's w/alnico magnets : classic creamy sound. Les pauls sound just like they jumped off the albums. Low wattage drivers though , not going to turn these up past a one room jam/ needs to mic up for shows.

Crate blue voodoo 4x12 with crate oem drivers : Takes just about everything this amp has to give from the output, Lots of bottom but nothing exciting. Great metal , drop D etc.

I'm using mostly greenback and g12h type speakers. occassionally I use alnicos as well

Ran the Asteroid with Peavey 412 loaded with English Celestion Vintage 30's.

Some times run it through a 212 loaded with Mojotone British Vintage Series BV-30V/ which are 60W rated.
