Help finding transformers for express project

Post by Miket »

Hi guys. I have been browsing this forum for some time now. And have decided to embark on my first trainwreck project - express clone.

I have been reading the b.o.m in the files section, and gotten stuck with the transformers.

It links to toneslut, however they say they no longer stock heyboer transformers. Heyboers site seems to be down.
Rj also seems to be on holiday.
I would order from pacific but I'm not sure what I would ask for.

I have done many searches but most results are so old they just give dead links or point to heyboer or rj.

I want to try and stay as close to authentic wreck parts as reasonably possible.

Can anyone suggest a source?
Also if anyone does a good quality full parts kit (not ceriatone) that would be nice!!

Also I am in Australia so we have 240v wall power down here.

Thanks in advance guys.

Wait for RJ to return. Great guy, and he can sell you several different sets (Heyboer and others).

I think the boys from Australia need to comment here for shipping reasons.

Not sure rj is selling transformers right now. I just ordered from Edcor for my Songwriter project.

For Express you can try contact rjguitars.net or PM him.

You could PM allynmey for Pacific iron or Triodestore.com has a PT good for all three TW amps but only have the 6k6 OT to use with Express or Liverpool.
Normally the Liverpool would run 5k2 but others have tried the 6K6.

The Rocket uses 4k3 OT.

Whats the triode store express kit like?
Would I end up with a much better product if I sourced my parts from the bom reccomendations?

The triodestore Express kit looks very good actually the chassis is steel is the only difference. The layout is the same as what we are using, they show it on their website.

Any idea when he's back? His website says he's away during fall. But I'm not sure when that is for his part of the world?

Not sure you might need to start looking for a supplier.
