I had this problem once not to long ago. It was a clod or bad connected solder in my heater circuit. I would check that first. It was a problem that only happened once in awhile. The wire was in the pin and touching, and even looked soldered, but wasnt. Solid wire. Hope its that easy for you to find. took me a bit.

It can be done... the Rocket is very forgiving about how it is laid out...Mont wrote: BTW, how about I strip my classic 30 and build a rocket in that chassis. any comments?
How far do you want to go though? I have a friend with a Classic 20 and we have thought about putting a Rocket in there. I have to say that I would be all for it if I had a blank chassis to start with... looks like it could be quite a bastard to use the holes already there. I have stuffed amps into odd chassis plenty... but the Peavey Classics are known to be tight and packed.
Just sayin'

Rocket in a Classic 30s Clothes
You can definitely put a Rocket into a Classic 30 chassis. I've just finished this one and it looks something like this. Sounds pretty damn sweet. About a million times better IMHO.

Nice. How did you pull it off? Without those damn jumpers I hope! I have a crappic 30, and modded it to hell. Still not a very impressive amp. This seems like the move to make on this chassis. Did you use the loop or boost functions at all?
