Pardon my confusing names; I had trouble with the board and my original name (this one - it's an old account and I had lost the password but the board wouldn't send me a new one - oh, never mind, LOL) and I had to create a new account yesterday to post and ask about using 7189s in a Rocket. So Tyrannocaster and Marcel Bagnole are the same person, which is suspiciously like being a sock puppet, LOL. Well, Marcel can retire gracefully now because I got the problem fixed and my old name works again.
ANYWAY...
If I use the 7189s which Edcor OT would I use? I know the 7189 specs but I'm asking because Trainwreck amps usually use values that aren't exactly what you would expect. I would have looked at the CXPP30-MS-3.8k ( http://www.edcorusa.com/p/433/cxpp30-ms-3_8k ) or the CXPP30-MS-5K ( http://www.edcorusa.com/p/434/cxpp30-ms-5k ) but something tells me that isn't the right one. I know with their OTs I don't need to go for the full 50 watt rating that the 7189s can put out because guitar has such a restricted bandwidth and this line of trannies is rated for full spectrum - I just don't know which impedance to pick.
Help, please?
EDIT: Googling, I found that I need 4K3 primary w/ 4/8/16 secondary, so the spec is right between stock Edcor models. Well, at least I'm in the ballpark! Any opinions as to which way to go with this: the 3.8 or the 5k?

Re: Which Edcor OT for a Rocket?
I have used many different transformers for a Rocket even 300-0-300 but
I recommend either the EM0708 245-0-245 or EM0727 260-0-260 power transformers.
For OT I recommend EM0720 4k3
See www.rjguitars.net for reference on these transformers.

Thanks. Your link is spelled wrong but I found the right page anyway.
Hey, that's great; his price is the same as the Edcor "not-perfect-specs" units I was looking at. Excellent.
EDIT: Thanks again. I've emailed rjguitars about this.
