What does the the 220k resister before the PI. do its R10 what is its purpose .

I believe its purpose is to limit current flow into the PI coupling capacitor C8 so as to avoid blocking distortion.

Thanks Martin,
I married this up to a marshall power section and made a 2 channel with the 59 bright channel and was trying to get more out of this channel because the bright channel was a bit louder I didnt want to remove it if there was like a tye in to the tone stack that comes before it .
So I will remove it and see what I get. Oh I didnt want to cut to much out of the bright channel because it really pushes the PI the way i have it.
For some great creamy over drive.

I could be wrong but I don't expect you'll get much increase in volume from removing that resistor.  Probably the tone stack losses ahead of it are more than in your other channel.
