Ever get the feeling this build will never happen?.. It's the feeling I'm getting. Build is on hold due to death in the family.

Does anyone have a Flea Clip installation tool I can buy or rent?

Mark sorry about the death in the family.

You will get around to these amps in due time.

I don't have a flea clip insertion tool but don't you just use a spade screwdriver for those?

Don't feel to bad. It was my grandmother. Not to make light of her death but she was pushing close to 100 years old and has been giving out death threats for years. She was finally ready to go, it happened in her sleep. It was peaceful and her time on her terms. Now I have to fly back and do all the official funeral meet and greets.

I'm not sure if a flat head will work I haven't attempted to even try.

Honestly the parts have been so hard to track down, let alone purchase and meter good. In a way I'm a bit scared of them, just hoping I don't do something stupid, lots of measure twice.. 3 times, 4 then cut. lol

It will be fine. Actually I'm jealous that you found the flea clips. I have an old vectorboard but no fleaclips. If you have some for sale let me know or tell me where you found them.

Give allynmey or the Hall boys a shout I though some of those guys had some boards and flea clips.

I was lucky enough and RJ was nice enough to sell me his last piece of Vector board. I picked up the Flea clips from Allyn several years back.

Where is Allyn? I've sent him a few emails and PM's over the last few months and haven't gotten a reply.

The master plan

When Construction does begin the plan is to make a cut frame video of the build process from an above vantage point looking down on the bench from beginning to end. All parts will be shown for what they are and what they actually measure. with a sound track of the amp being played by a studio guitarist to show the clean to mean diversity. Along with a video on making the head cabinet and pyrograph. Another video of it A/B'd against 2 KF Trainwrecks for a voicing comparision. I'd like to also do a style of music, and Tele, Strat, Les paul, SG-P90 comparision for tone.

If it goes well then do the same videos for each amp Express, Liverpool, Rocket.
The goal is to make the videos 5-10 min long.

Then upload the videos and link them to the TAG files for members only.
Along with a list of parts, and voltages.

Sounds like this will make a fascinating documentary.
Will you also include a cost breakdown/tally, and a "timeline" from the parts search to fireup?

I can give u a rough estimate now 5.5 years ~ $5200 in parts per amp. A lot of $ went into shipping and having to throw big $$$ to win auctions and surplus part lots. As well as buying parts that later tested bad.

Very ambitious and generous of you. I will be watching that one closely. I can't think of a better build video than what you described.
