Hammond enclosures

Post by surfsup »

So i bought one with the cover to match. I don't seem to have the screws to mount the cover on. For anyone that's ordered one before, did you get screws with the chassis and cover?

This is the 1444/1434 enclosure series right? My experience = nope. no screws.
I threw the cover away and nearly binned the whole thing because it was all so flimsy. Maybe the baseplate is supposed to stiffen it up, but usually you only need five sides for a stable structure.
I added a 1/4" aluminium plate on top to take the weight of the transformers. It is easy to drill though. You can probably just bite your holes out.
Good luck, tony

ps if you mean the die-cast aluminium ones, like the 1590 series, these should always be supplied with screws.
