Fuchs Train 45 and the Trainwreck Express
Is the Train 45 pretty faithful to the TW Express layout? What is different? Thanks!

Train-45
Basic circuit is the Express with our own tweaks: A PC board for the audio and power supply, all tubes, jacks, switches and controls are chassis mounted.
It has DC preamp tube filaments and a DC fan for low noise and no hum. Separate bias pots for each power tube, Heyboer built/Fischer designed transformers. IT has a sag switch to change from hard (solid state) to soft (tube like) response. It also has a three position bright switch dark-normal-bright. All aluminum chassis and premium parts. I'd hoped to A/B the Train with Alyn's amp the NJ tonefest, but it was a hi db zoo, and even if it happened, the place was so loud a serious judgement couldn't be made with any confidence.

You got that right Andy! I've been wanting to play one of your Train-45's for a while. I was talking to you outside and I could see one in the trunk of your car and realized how the hell could we plug in and hear it correctly!

You know, I will be down at greg's place in a few weeks for a jam night if your interested. There will be only a few guys there and we could A/B some amps including my Liverpool.

Maybe a "mini fest" (invite little guys like Lerner, Vern Troyer, Adam Stark,Pat Martino Jimmy Bruno etc...).
Anyway, keep me posted. If the schedule and weather permit, I'd love to get together.
