2 hole rocket chassis size
How critical is the chassis size and transformer placement on a rocket amp. I built a rocket on a small 15x5 1/2 chassis and the amp sounds great but has a problem with a hum that goes away when you touch a volt meter on pin 2 of the phase inverter and a fuzz distortion kind of sound when you turn up the cut control and play a bass note. the output transformer is mounted above the cut control.I see on pictures of rocket amps the pt and ot transformers mounted together.
Re: 2 hole rocket chassis size
I have seen some really compact amps like the ones in ammo cans and they don't have issues.
I would push some wires around or reroute wires around the tube sockets to make sure your lead dress is good. Perhaps a small shield over the cut pot if nothing else.
Are your PT and OT verticle mount (stand-up) type? Some people when using horizontal type completely enclose the bottom of the transformer for shielding.

Re: 2 hole rocket chassis size
I used a 12 x 8 chassis and it worked out OK. I had some noise at start-up and found that the PI wires were VERY touchy. Moved them around a little and the noise is gone.
Good luck.
Good luck.

I fixed the problem with the rocket by moving the output transformer over with the power transformer .
