8ohm or 16ohm cab with an Express?

Post by gnugear »

What sounds best with an Express?

I've got a couple G12H30s and was wondering if I should get a 2x12 8ohm cab or get a couple more speakers and get a 4x12 16ohm cab.

I got one of those Heyboer's that allows you to choose between the two impedences, that's why I ask. Also my speakers are 16ohm so I think I can only wire them for 8ohm?

I have read that elsewhere before but also read Kevin O'Connor saying it is just wind in sails ( in speaker mfg sails to be more precise ).

Have you experimented with it?
