choke filter

Post by castor »

Has anyone added a choke filter to his express clone?
i love sound of mine, but there is too much noise (i test it with guitar connected and guitar volume to 0, while amp volume is at half)... and in this way even at -12 db it has too much noise!
in my previous project when I added the choke filter noise went away like a miracle (the chocke filter was in the original amp but i finished everything before receiving it so i could test the amp with and without it)!
Do you think that adding a choke (i have had good rexults with hammond ones) will alter the overall sound of the amp?
it is strange that a so good amp has not one!

The wiser on this forum told me that the big resistor acts as a fake choke. It may be nice to try and use a real choke but if the design isn't broken...
Oldie newbie.
