I'm totally a bigginner regarding any Ken Fisher stuff. Have to start somewhere, I'm learning fast!!!!

No disputing that. No one here said anything about abandoning anyone. Just a comment on those who place such great stock in something so superficial and transient.

"old and ugly" - We cannot avoid getting old but I disagree that we have to get ugly. Actually, we can avoid getting old but those consequences are too high a price to pay.

5150, the best tone in the universe is created by numerous rigs and it's a different setup for every player. I have built so many different amp circuits and I can tell you that there is something I love about many of them. But, here's some very telling info for you. The first time I built a 1987 Marshall Plexi (one of the Holy Grail amps) I was like "Yuk! that is so tinny and biting." And why did I react that way? Because I'm a Strat and Tele man. If you're gonna play a Plexi, you need a Humbucker guitar. It's no surprise that Leo voiced his amps to fit his single coil guitars and that Fender amps sound great with Fender Guitars. Now that I have learned which guitar to use with which amp, I have learned to appreciate many more amps and guitars that I previously did not consider. The Komet 60 is a great little amp in it's own right. I am looking forward to building my own. It will certainly not be the last amp I build as I am filling my recording studio with holy grail amps. My message to you is don't get hung up on one amp and especially one that you've only heard MP3's from. Get your butt out with your favorite guitar and play everything you can before you decide what to build. And then, be prepared to build many more, because once the fever stikes, you're in it for a long haul.

Hey I get ya there and you know what I'm already hooked, I've been building Super Leads, 1987s, for the last couple of years and really love the art of building amps, then I discover those Komets recently and was impressed with then. I agree we have to try many, know its those, later maybe Hiwatts,Vox, etc..., many holy grail amps out there for sure. Lots of good ice cream with different flavors

For the Ken Fisher stuff I'm totaly a novice, just starting to get the info, I wish I could go play a real one for sure if I just coul find one near here
