Does anyone know of a decent book or website on how to decipher schematics with all the groundings and how some components attach i get lost.
Also a book on how an amplifier works and what each component does in the chain

Oh yeah I really have a liking for "Inside Tube Amps By Dan Torres" Its actually fun to read and not too technical but very practical.populartsl wrote:Does anyone know of a decent book or website on how to decipher schematics with all the groundings and how some components attach i get lost.

Hi Ben,
you could read the P1 Theory Document on the AX84 site http://ax84.com/index.php?pg=projects&project_id=p1
Also the Jack Darr Book http://www.pacificrecone.com/JackDarrBook.html
Lots of articles on tubes here http://www.radau5.ch/basics_1.html
And you can ask questions here!

Re: Newbie Question
If you want to do some basic study and understand how components work (especially tubes), the Navy Electricity & Electronics Training Series - NEETS* tome is outstanding.
