Anyone experimented with speakers of different efficiency ratings to tame a little volume?
I just finished my Express and have been trying it through a G12H30 and it's really loud, but I don't want to turn it down. Celestion rates that speaker at 100dB efficiency, I think the Greenback is rated 98dB, I don't know exactly how that translates in perception but I think you'd need more like a 6dB or more difference to really hear it.
The Jensen MOD's are more like 95dB, as well as the Celestion Rocket 50, but they don't have the reputation of the Greenbacks.
Anyone have experience with this?

Sammi.
BTW you are correct, lower efficiency speakers will make the amp quieter. You will notice 2-3dB of difference, but sometimes it can be different when running them cranked, since the efficiency of the speaker at 1 watt doesn't necessarily track linearly to 40 watts etc.
Sammi's are low efficiency and the sound clips I hear sound good. I should get some myself.
