modded bassman

Post by Richie »

a friend used this amp on a CD. Clean to scream. Its kind of a more country/ rock cd,but has some good guitar on it.Imagine a banjo, wreck and a wah..lol And nice clean too.
Some songs change,so you have to listen for the different parts.

The amp was a 68 bassman with a VVR,and i modded both channels, one is wreckish, the other is clean-er fender with a boost. guitar is most likely his strat, and maybe a tele,i forgot to ask..lol.
My friend is the guitar player in the band. The amp belongs to the recording studio [another friend]. That recorded the CD.

People seem to ask about useing 6L6s or modding a fender etc..
The amp is still using the fender power section, and stock transformers
click the media to hear the songs.

Wow!

It's like Kid Rock meets Earl Scruggs....... Seriously, some really cool sounds. Your amp sounds killer Richie! There was another guy that posted some clips of a Wrecked Bassman here a while back. It sounded really cool too, but much different then this one. His sounded more like a Dumble to me. There were several clips on this album where the overdrive reminds me a lot of some of the overdrive sounds on Brad Paisley's recent instrumental album. I'm guessing the ones I'm thinking about were played on his Liverpool.

Anyway, really cool overdriven sounds, and the cleaner more traditional Fender tones were really great also. They seemed warmer then the traditional Blackface or Silverface cleans. Thanks for sharing.

Great guitar tones Richie.

Man, country music sure has changed.

I think a lot of rock session players cross over to make it nowadays.

You don't really hear much about new rock groups.

All this hippity hoppity crap and rap.....

yep... tiny 14 years old girls singing a sappy song on the tv and the aging rehab'd rocker steps out for his 20 second def skynard solo... that's the new country.
