Need stock grill cloth for silverface champ and cover

Any one know what the exact orig grill cloth is for a 74 silverface champ? I am looking at this one: Mojo Grillcloth » Fender Style Aged Black/White/Silver Grill Cloth 36'' W It looks very much like the cloth already on it. I am also looking at the non-aged grill cloth at mojo also same color per mo...

Re: Blues Junior Input jack beauty ring

Firestorm you beat me to it ! I am not too concerned with pc board removal. I worked around computers for years. I had to take Vibroverb reissue apart to get to a pot that had noise. It was a royal pain getting to it (it should not be that much to take apart), but it was. Not hard, just kind of a pa...

Re: Blues Junior Input jack beauty ring

Looks like what I will probably get when time: http://billmaudio.com/wp/?page_id=65 Switchcraft all-metal Input Jack: $10 You can replace the plastic input jack with an all-metal Switchcraft jack (the industry standard). It comes prewired with Mogami low-noise coaxial cable and includes two Switchcr...

Re: Blues Junior Input jack beauty ring

I found it: It appears I was looking at the blim mods (thought I was looking at another forum/poster). http://billmaudio.com/wp/?page_id=34 When I mod green board Blues Juniors, I always replace the input jack with a Switchcraft all-metal input jack (see kits). I bypass the feedback-prone circuit bo...

Re: Blues Junior Input jack beauty ring

johnny, yea that looks like the correct replacement part. That should be or similar to fender part number 0990912000. I also refer to a mod to put a switchcraft input jack in place of the 0990912000. Guy explained it by putting a piece of coaxial from switchcraft jack, bypass the lead in from the pc...

Re: Blues Junior Input jack beauty ring

There is not a problem.

I just figured if they still made the part I need, I would buy it.

I think the switchcraft part would be a good mod to make.

Please post a link if any one has done it before.

Re: Blues Junior Input jack beauty ring

Firestorm I believe you are correct. Called fender and my part number no longer valid, it has changed to 0990912000, Can any one point me to the link to replace the current input jack to a switchcraft 12a, as I read where they bypass the lands on pc and go direct to a certain location on pc board. T...

Re: Blues Junior Input jack beauty ring

Guys, I just am not sure why I said white, it could have been any color, but it did "feel" like plastic. My memory is just terrible.

Re: Blues Junior Input jack beauty ring

johnny Probably because the ring has been there for most of the amp's life. I just noticed it missing..(again). Also, I tend to be very careful when putting jack in or out of that amp...for that very reason, and I rarely play it. When I do play it I am in a home setting also. Amp is that old, looks ...

Re: Blues Junior Input jack beauty ring

No Firestorm This is just for looks, maybe extra support. Maybe I am going crazy, but I thought it has a little plastic spacer/washer that fit over the jack (maybe 1/8"-1/4" high)(where it protrudes out of top of amp, just to make it look better then the black plastic part of plastic input jack stic...

Re: Blues Junior Input jack beauty ring

Yea..I am talking about beauty washer. I could have sworn it was a white/bone color. It has been a while since I had amp uncovered, and even longer since I looked for the washer. If memory serves me correctly, it has popped off a couple times. I would gladly buy if they sell them some where. I do no...

Blues Junior Input jack beauty ring

Hey guys I have orig tweed blues junior (94-95 I think). I am 99% certain it had a white ring around the input jack. It is gone! Any one know where to get one. I can not even find one with google except for one guy saying he has seen two amps with it missing: Looks like the Fender Part Number is 037...

Re: Fender SF Champ re-cap parts

I checked mine, it is Ungar (looks same as Weller) 45 watt. I'm pretty sure Weller and Ungar are the same company. I forget who owns who. Funny you say that, as I looked up model number on handle and it took me to what looked to be the EXACT same handle, but said Weller. It has been a good gun that...

Re: Fender SF Champ re-cap parts

Thanks Firestorm, as if I did not feel bad already :) Mr. Hand (reminds me of Fast Times At Ridgemont High), thanks but I live in Tennessee  Billy..that looks cheap enough. I have email out to a friend here, he does some house repairs, so maybe he has a hot iron. If not, that link may be an opt...

Re: Fender SF Champ re-cap parts

Man, you guys bummed me out with the expensive soldering gun. I checked mine, it is Ungar (looks same as Weller) 45 watt.

Glad to have information ahead of time. Would have hated to get in middle of project and find I did not have the right tool.

175 watt..yow
