I would expect the trimmer/capacitor on the pab board to be connected to the treble pot only when the pab would be engaged.

Did you find out by any chance what are the values and the role of the capacitor and the trimmer on the pab relay board?

In the classic reverb signature looks like that the 220k resistor is eliminated.
Any ideas how this would affect the sound?

You can find black vox grill cloth on ebay.

You can use even a four wire cable for three footswitches and their leds.
That's how i have my amp and it's working fine.

To my ears sample number 2 sounds slightly smoother.
Both samples definitely sound great!
