Re: 6G3 / 6G11 Build
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. The power amp section of a 6G3 and 5E3 are different no? Wouldn't I have to choose one if I were to go with you suggestion? (BTW I would love to do that! It is just that, I thought doing a 6G3/5E3 is sorta impossible -without using a crazy big relay-, becaus...

6G3 / 6G11 Build
Hi guys, I would like to ask for your feedback about an amp that I and a friend of mine are thinking of building (he is gonna be doing the "building" actually). We are at the stage about choosing parts and all. The amp would have 2 channels, the first would be the bright of 6G3 and the second the br...

Re: Tele pick-up overwound
I've tried quite a few pickups as well. To stay with the original thread...I like the Fralin bridge 5% over and the stock neck for the Tele. My original Tele pickups sounded decent, not great, and they were microphonic as well. The Fralins are quiet and sound very good. diagrammatiks - care to shar...

Re: Tell me about the lows of TW Express...
some complain about the bass of the express, saying its not tight enough etc. this is understandable since its a 30w amp with little negative feedback. its not like a 120w superlead. I decreased the cathode bypass cap on v2 til .68u in order to get clearer and tighter bass. but this also reduces ga...

Tell me about the lows of TW Express...
Hi guys, Am living in Istanbul, thus, as you could imagine, trying a real TW Express is next to impossible. In fact, even a clone would be definitely hard to come by. Here people are generally into Marshalls and Blackfaces. Anyways... I was one of those folks actually. Love my 1987 clone (68 circuit...

Re: TW Express clone with a Post PI Master Vol...
I am a 1987 user... 50W! So can bear high volumes. But quite often, I would have to fight with the sound guy... Even going from T75's (97dB) to V30's (100dB) can upset the balance! Thus, basically ppimv for me would be used whenever I would have go down like 3-4 dB. Not 30dB... See? I am no way aski...

Re: TW Express clone with a Post PI Master Vol...
I was thinking of getting it done with a toggle switch, to be used to bypass the whole MV circuit at will... The thing is, I don't wanna get it done with 6V6s. Would rather use EL34s. Yet, they are powerful. And often on stage and in gigs, the max I could go is like 18 - 22Ws. But maybe I should go ...
