Re: Noise from Matchless DC30 EF86 Channel

also remove that .1 cathode cap off of v1. You will find that OD pedals will work better w/o it.

Re: Anyone here built a Matchless dc30????

These guys made the original trannies- http://transformerdesignandsupply.com/ I have built the C-30 with these and it sounds great. Robert makes the trannies for the original matchless and the divided by 13 stuff. Can't go wrong and his prices are good. I'd go that route if you were planning on bei...

What would cause an amp to get distorted on only one note?

What would cause an amp to get distorted on only one note?

It seems that when I hit an A I get a funky distortion almost like a bad ground. It happens on different cabs and guitars so I know it is the amp.

the amp is a 15W cathode biased EL84.

Re: Best noiseless single coil pickups

I have been down the SSC route and went back to Dimarzio Area 58 and 61's on my strat.

Feels like a strat, sounds like a strat.

FWIW - I have used all of the kinmans, duncans, fender Scn, and even older VVs and think that these are easily the best sounding of the bunch

The "evil twin" is the "red knob" Twin amp, called "The Twin" if I recall correctly.
No - the evil twin was an early 90's amp with 135 W and extra pull gain. like the red knob but different.

Useful? Well, this thread was supposed to be about DESIGN of audio, elcetroacoustic enclosures, valve amp. Sven dude you need to get a different swedish to english dictionary, I think the cat was just talking about his chassis and faceplates. But seriously if I ever needed to add filtering to my PS...

silver chassis...what to do?

Ok so before I found this site I purchased a bankok silver chassis (mine says level :) )

I just don't know what to do with it, I was planning on using his boards and building up a non-master 70's style but I am wondering if it is going to be worth the hassle.....

I welcome any ideas you guys have

Hybrid Rev-A parts list with mouser codes

I thought that as long as I was doing this for me I should share. Excel speadsheet with mouser part #s, costs and quantity for the Hybrid -A amp.

Please let me know if you would have chosen different parts or anything else that I have omitted.

It's really just the Hybrid A schem with PAB. After building several this one is still my fav. Added the Altec 417H speaker and spent alot of time tweaking, can do the Larry sweet thing and also rock out with muscle and tatoos.
what did you do with the master and the presence?
