Martin, thank you for your response. I guess I dont know what Im talking about. But arent those two resistors after the first stage of the preamp? According to schematics there should be 140v on those plates.
So your suggestion is to use them only on the second stage and pre phase inverter then.

Thanks! Yeah those capacitors look suspicious. They are old but never used. The guy who gave them to me said that if current never passes trough their shelf life is longer.

Thank you! OMG, i just checked the ratings for the metal film resistors I have bought and the 1/2 watt are as low as 200v. That means, I have to reorder almost everything!!

Thank you Sluckey. I have seen a build from a member of this forum and he used all carbon comp as well. Not criticizing that choice. I just would love to minimize the use of carbon comp resistors to where the are actually making a difference.
