Re: Gibson GA 40 with no tremolo and tone switch

Thanks, I will redraw the schematic and a nice layout and post it over here.

Is there a reason why matchless puts the 6 position tone switch before the volume pot in het ef86 channel?

Thanks

Re: Gibson GA 40 with no tremolo and tone switch

So the erase of the tremolo is correct in my second post? What about the tone control? Can this be put here, between the 1meg pots and the phase inverter?

With tone switch

Hi, I attached drawings of what i think my schematic would probably look like, and the orignal: I redrawn it without the trem part, thanks Phil S! Is this correct, i mean the two channels in this configuration? I added a tone switch. Would this work? I mean in the DC30 schematic this tone circuit is...

Gibson GA 40 with no tremolo and tone switch

Hi everbody, I would like to build something like a Gibson GA40 amp. I don't need the tremolo, but i would keep the second channel (without the tremolo) to thicken the tone. I would hardwire the two channel inputs so I don't need a jumper cable and only two jack inputs would be needed. I would like ...

Re: Marshall JCM2000 DSL Popping on powering down

Not an exact clone. I have build it from scratch with the ceriatone layout from 2008. I build it a while ago (winter 2008-2009) and it didn't work. It squeeld like a pig. After hours of searching I gave up. Last sunday I was cleaning up my attic and I picked the amp back up and I changed the wires o...

Re: Marshall JCM2000 DSL Popping on powering down

Hi guys, I have build a marshall 1987 clone. It sounds great and I am verry happy with it... but there is one little thing that bothers me a bit. When I swith the amp off, it makes the pop sound too, not extremely loud but loud enough to disturb me. (don't mind my english I am from Belgium;) ) I hav...

Re: speakers?

Are the Celestion G12-65 Heritage 12" / 65 W a good match? I heard people saying good things about them in combination with the jcm 800. Just checking all the options :D

Thanks

Re: chassis question

Thanks,

I will go for the aluminium then, the sound is more important than the tank :)

chassis question

Hi guys,

I see you all use aluminium chassis. I like steel because its more like tank. Would steel work with an express build? If theirs no other option, I will build it in aluminium no problem, but I like to check things out before I order parts.

Thanks
Greets
