Re: A Trainwreck Thread
I read the first few pages because I know very little about the TR's. WHen one of the post mention this site I started doing my research here. Have to admit I still pop to that thread when I need a little amusement. Not sure who is further off base, the original post, the stiff upper lips, or the ol...

Re: modded bassman
yep... tiny 14 years old girls singing a sappy song on the tv and the aging rehab'd rocker steps out for his 20 second def skynard solo... that's the new country. Great guitar tones Richie. Man, country music sure has changed. I think a lot of rock session players cross over to make it nowaday...

Re: lo watt liverpool
Thanks for that link UR12. I'd search (for low watt, and 18 watt) and browsed some 200 topics back but had not come across that yet. Great read and will be very helpful.
I have a set of heyboer transformers that were labeled as AC15.

Re: lo watt liverpool
Just get a Liverpool schematic and alter the output section - paying attention to the cathode bias resistors. I thought that's what I did (finding the latest and reading the discussions). I'll go back and look at the others on the board in comparison. Oh crap... I erased the 220uf/50r... put it bac...

lo watt liverpool
I am doing some research for a possible future project. Looking to build a wreck type amp, but I don't have a need for yet another 30+ watt amp. It was suggested that a "two hole liverpool" might be the answer. I also reviewed the T-rex schematic... and having just built a couple of 18watt variances...

Re: transformers for express
clearly I have more research to do. Based upon the schematics I was studying, I was thinking the express was an 18-20 watt (dual 6v6 or EL84) amp. And, since I had a chassis, the parts and a extra set of OT/PT... thought is might be a great next project. thanks for all of the input... I'm sure I wil...

Re: Transformers
One last thing: There are many many posts on this forum regarding transformers for Express, Liverpool, and Rocket. I strongly suggest you search and read through them to gain a better understanding of what and why you're purchacing a particular set for your build. Good Luck and Welcome. Steve Thank...

Re: transformers for express
The phrase, "Similar to Hammond P-T1650H" is a hold over from work done several years ago by Steve Ahola, and should be ignored. These are from a set of schematics that I have been studying (8-12 pages worth) called wreckxpr. Is there a more authoritative or accurate set that I should be looking at?

transformers for express
I see on most of the schematic I see for the express there is a hammond (6150 I think?) spec'd. Wondering how significant varying this is. I have a set of heyboers that were made for AC15 use... and was considering using them on a build. Any thoughts?

Re: Where do you guys get your metal knockout hole punches?
I have greenlee from an wholesale electrical distributor. But Allynmey sells them on his website. I use Harbor Freight step drills most things though. those are cool. How do they work? I find the punches distort the metal just a bit. Not super clean, but neither are most hand drills (I really need ...

Re: Where do you guys get your metal knockout hole punches?
Harbor Freight has something almost the same for $25: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=91201 The issue is that the punch/die for the 1/2" conduit makes a 7/8" hole, and that's the smallest hole size. I just bought the harbor freight punches. They work fairly well and...
