I have a bm5a that has the same problem. I have found that if I open it and unplug/plug all the printed circuits connectors, the tweeter comes back to life. Lately, I cleaned the connectors with contact cleaner and I haven't had any tweeter drop-outs since ... crossing my fingers. Hope this will hel...
