I can't help but think that this is a paristitic osilation. Maybe a grid wire is a fraction to long or in the wrong position or any number of paristitic remidies. Also are the transformers positioned in relation to each other corectly.

If your talking about the 1164 princeton reverb then the phase inverter is a cathadyne phase inverter? Have not had any experience with them but I think they are very difficult to get a clean output from. One option could be to play with the bias resistors on it or to change it to a long tail pair p...

Thanks for the reply. I'll explain that I had a real farty bass problem and a harsh top end. So some normal changes are to lower the bypass caps on the preamp i just didnt like it in this circuit.
