Re: Pedal Building CE Marking
You have to go to the IEC website and buy all applicable norms first. Of course it's up to you to find what's applicable :? But they offer previews which can help on this. For such pedals you don't have to pass the low voltage directive as you found out, so I'd probably comply with RoHS by compiling...

Well I also got no answer, maybe because you are in Italy and I am in France and he's already too busy for the US market?

Re: i needed a drill press (cool tool idea) for eyelet install
Could it be used for staking eyelets and turrets? I don't know if it's strong enough and if there's enough clearance under the base to fit a staking tool base like the one from turretboards.com

Re: Solder Preferences
Hello,
What do you use to clean the amber residue ? Does a special solder material exist without this "side-effect" ?
Thanks,
Spinoo.

Re: Power supply capacitors
Hi, you should try to identify your noise : is it 60Hz or 120Hz ? Then you'll know if ot comes from the high voltage rail or from a magnetic coupling or heaters' supply.

Re: Power supply capacitors
Well to make sure you power supply is correctly sized you could use Duncan's PSU Designer. I was talking about a standalone preamp - nothing in common with a Trainwreck - my friend used a PT with the secondary rated @ 80mA and after simulation his cap choices caused current peaks @ 400mA. He used no...

Re: Power supply capacitors
One must add that with a capacitor input filtering the transformer has to 'fill' at least the first capacitor (depends if you're using a choke to smooth the screens' supply) in a very small time, which leads to very high current spikes. These spikes cause the power transformer to heat as magnetic sa...
