Re: Express-Best single 12" speaker
I believe the express was designed around a pair of the G12-H30 Celestions, so one speaker is not going to get it. I have never tried a Celestion Gold, but I would guess if you wanted just one speaker then that might be it

Re: Rocket Half power switch
Thanks for the info. Yea, I'm doing some searching around the Garage on the subject. I know we're talking two different animals here, but when I built an Express I found out it's loud as Hell. So on this build I'm looking at the options ahead of time. For the Express I am going to install a VVR or b...

Rocket Half power switch
I am concidering a rocket build. I saw that Nik @ Ceriatone puts a half power switch in his Rockit Kit. Anyone ever tried this, and how did it affect the sound(Tone)

Re: Paul Ruby Express.
I would say more like TW inspired than clone, Looks like he used metal film resistors. Thats a big no no IMHO. Still it is a good looking build with a nice cab. Just not a true to the bone clone.

Re: He's Gonna Get It !!!
It is just another version of the basic circuit that we all use until someone puts a logo on it and that's when the trouble starts. After all, the tube amps being built today use the schems that were developed during the 40's and 50's. Seems everybody wants to add some new kind'a light, freak tweak, ...

There are some previous threads on this. Can you post some pic's of the layout? What tube do you have in the PI socket? What type of wire did you use? Sorry to answer with so many questions.

pot shaft
Looks like the shaft might be long enough. Also with these you have the option to solder on the back for the ground buss.

Re: New "Trainwreck style" transformers from Magnetic
Hopefully Triode will have better turn around time. It took me a month to get a set from Heybour. Looks like the price gets better if you buy in quanity. Maybe these will sound closer to the Stancors that KF originally used. I can't wait for someone to try the Triode trannys and give us a review. Th...

vox iron
Funny, I had just been asking myself the same thing. How would Vox AC30 iron match up with a Rocket build that I am concidering? There has been talk lately about Triode offering TW type specs. using MC Tranny's. Triode also offers Vox AC30 replacement Trannys. So back to Markus"s question #1

Re: Go ask your questions
Yea 399. is a-bit over the top for this type of seminar, but you have to give Gerald credit. He has made himself a lot of mu-la by catering to the average player who wants to know more about his amp. I have sevaral of his books and the last culmination DVD in my collection.

#1 guitar solo
Wow, lot of good solos here. I would say Peter Greene for Albatross, but we can't forget Carlos Santana for his Soul Sacrafice Jam @ Woodstock. and also Peter Framton's Do You Feel(like I do).I could go on there are so many good ones.

Re: Practice time
I sometimes feel that my sound is getting stuck, so I practice up on some new thing and it always seems to get me inspired. I once heard the great BB King in an interview, say"I could play better if I practiced more. We've been on the road alot lately, and I've not been able to practice as much as I'...

Re: buying NOS tubes
I've noticed that although a lot of things Musical have takin a hit during this recent economic period, NOS Tubes have continued to increase in value. Looks like they are a good investment, as well as a lot of fun to try, anyway. Now if I can just get my wife to beleive this.

logo on clone
IMHO, Selloutrr is right. No one should put the logo on with-out permission from the family. However he may have that agreement with them.
