Re: Edcor TX's anyone?
I've used both the XSE series and the XPP series in guitar amps. I replaced a Hammond 125ESE in a tweed Princeton cirucuit I built using their 5K:8ohm, 15w SE OT. I thought it sounded better clean than the Hammond. Much more sparkly and bell-like. The amp sounded better with the Hammond cranked. I r...

Re: Lexicon 284, anyone ever played one?
There were two versions of the Lexicon 284. The limited edition had the magic eye. I think it's pretty rare, I've never seen one for sale. The first version of the 284 was the MacIntyre Bluesmaker Mark II. AGI-Lace used to sell it on the website and it came in a 2x12" cabinet that looked like a 30s...

A quick look on the net tells me that a KT66 is 25W. Take a look at a few more sites to make sure though. Interestingly enough, the data sheet that comes with the Groove Tubes KT-66HP tubes (which seem to be the ones shown in first photo in this thread) say 22W for "Design" values and 30W for "Abso...

Re: What size of Greenlee punch should I use for octal sockets?
+1 on the Greenlee punches.
A few years ago I lucked into a bunch of Cinch 1" octal sockets, dirt cheap.
I have 1", 1.062" and 1.125" Greenlee chassis punches. Expensive, but worth every penny.

Re: converting a blues junior to 6v6 tubes
How about using 6CM6 or 6AQ5 tubes? These are similar to the 6V6 in ratings but have lower power output (12W VS 14W for the 6V6GTA).
What is the B+ is the Blues Junior?
