I'm glad you made it, GtrWiz. I didn't want to get too technical over at HRI, but if you are patient, I can reassemble everything I've done to massage a couple BF Bassman amps its Express variants (actually and express channel and a good old Fender channel).

When I have implemented KOC's version, I tried whole amp and power section only scaling +/- MV. By far I preferred power section scaling with a MV used not as a MV, but rather to REDUCE overdrive....kinda backwards to what most folks use MV for. In a word: YES. The PS contributes to the sound, feel and noise floor of an amp. "Over-filtered" PS circuits work well in some designs, but lose some of the interesting artifacts that makes creative ampsmanship a fun and musiccally satisfying (!!!) hobby.
