Line out options
When setting up a voltage divider for a line out jack is it preferable to keep the dropping resistor or pot (if you want to be able to adjust) below 100K and keep the V drop to a ratio of about 100?? Gibson uses 47K for R1 and 470R for R2...Fender uses 2.2K for R1 and I think 220R for R2. I'm assumi...

Polarity for Small caps on pots for 5E3
For the small pico and micro caps on the tone and volume pots on the 5E3....is polarity important? Silver mica 500 pico and mallory .0047. I've heard it doesn't matter like with orange drops but wanted to be sure.

Re: Output tranny secondary switch
I think it will be fine since its low voltage there and I'm going to put it inside so theres no accidental switching....thanks for all the help guys....Cheers

Re: To choke or not to choke
Thanks man...that's great info. I'll stick to the resistor. If I run 6L6's (which is an option with my OT) in the deluxe would it make more of a difference you think?

Re: Output tranny secondary switch
Actually...the taps are on the secondary winding. Mercury Tweed deluxe 59M. Green (Ground...right?) and Yellow for 5k and yellow/white for 8k. Was just going to run each wire to an on/on switch and then to the jack.

To choke or not to choke
Building a 5E3 tweed and was wondering if adding a choke between the first filter cap and the second cap will tighten the bottom end up at all? Does it affect the output? Do you like the tone better with the choke there or with the resistor? Thanks.

Output tranny secondary switch
Does adding a switch between the OT and the speaker affect tone? I have taps for 5K and 8K for optimizing 6V6's or 6L6's and was wondering if placing a switch will eat tone. I can just run direct and switch wires if I switch tubes if it does but was wondering if anyone has experience or input doing ...
