Re: Celestion Vintage 30 questions
Go American or go without in my books. Isn't Celestion a British company? Yes it is, but it is quality and not communist. I knew that my statement would bring some kind of quip, but the limeys are very okay in my books and to my knowledge their trade practices are fair and we haven't shipped many o...

Re: Celestion Vintage 30 questions
They are supposed to have country of origin labeled on each unit. Personally, I don't feel that a V30 is a good match for an SFTR. They have a big spike in the upper mids that is ear fatiguing and some SFTRs (I'm not saying all as my 69 SFTR isn't) harsh and brittle in the highs. My SFTR is a '72 w...

Celestion Vintage 30 questions
I am wanting a couple of these speakers for my SFTR and need to know how to tell the Chinese version from the real UK made speakers. Does anyone know? Also what year did Celestion start having these speakers made in China?
Thanks for your input.

lead dress information
I am going to buy an amp kit, which one I don't know yet but most likely something along the line of the 5e5 or 5e3 circuit. I have read on this site and other amp sites where some guys have problems in the area of lead dress and this something I know nothing about. My EET expierence and training is...

exactly right on the paisley. Looks kinda hokey IMO.dartanion wrote:True dat billyz. Derek has some serious chops and goes about it in a very melodic fashion.
Doug's amps are very well built and sound great, but I am not a fan of that paisley covering. Looks like hotel furniture up close.

Heres the link to the clip

Since one of the amps is called 'Original Sewell' you might be right. I'll have to look into Doug Sewell's amps as well.

PRS amps anyone, Your thoughts
I just saw a video clip of Derek Trucks talking about the PRS amp he is using now. It sure sounded sweet to me, but that was only thru my laptop speakers. Doe anyone out there have any experience with these amplifiers? What do you think about them and maybe compare them to some of the other custom a...

two ways out of this mess
1. Longterm fix. Un-elect every single person in DC right now, every single one of them no matter who they are, and ban lobbyist immediately. 2.
