Holy crap

I started this post in the "dumble overdrive special" thread, but I decided it would be more appropriate to start a new thread about this. I really didn't know where to put this, so I apologize to the mods. ......they about double every 5 years..... Not likely that this is even close to accurate. 7 ...

Re: A question about a line out on a tube amp

slajeune - awesome post. Since that circuit is designed for a 50 watt, I assume my friend simply has to multiply the values by 2 in order to accomodate a 100 watt amp, such as mine? Either way, we'll build your circuit (tone shaping and all). I have no idea why I didn't latch on to your site sooner....

Wow ! Great post. That sound clip is really well done. You get a damn good sound. Here's is the bogen amp I've been talking about. Re: A question about a line out on a tube amp

Thank you bob-1. As I said, I had no plans of randomly plugging cables into things out of fear of the very things you've mentioned. I do have one question though. What if I built a dummy resister load? This way I can go straight out of the speaker output, into a little box with a resistor tree insid...

A question about a line out on a tube amp

Long time lurker here. The members here were a lot of help when I had a question about tubes a while back...so I figured this would probably be the best place to ask this question. I have a '60s Bogen tube amp (Bogen CHB-100) and It has been "modded" by adding 1/4" ins and outs (instead of amphenol ...

Anyone ever run into this problem? Where to run?

My mom recently saw a posting for a free tube amp and tube radio with record player. I raced to the chance to get it. I called the poster and he said the unit worked 100% fine. He had to disconnect a few wires and cut a few to get it out of the console, but since it worked before hand, I can see tha...

Before and After

Hey all, still pretty unused to the idea of tubes, but still lurking around this forum and reading constantly. I have amassed a small collection of tube amp chassis's, preferebly from the 40s to the 70s. I never, EVER realized how cheap tube amps could be. I have a Super Reverb which was cost an arm...

Re: 1957 tube amp. Original tubes!

I finally got the balls to plug my bass into the tube amp. The trouble is that the tube amp is connected to the organ, both at the power switch and to the speakers. In any event, the first thing I noticed was that my bass was LOUD but CLEAR at the same time! This thing really sparkled for my string ...

1957 tube amp. Original tubes!

I was on the yahoo list for a brief moment in time as "centralheating1978@ yahoo.com". Glad to finally be on this list since tube amps are a big interest for me. I bought a big 1957 wurlitzer 4420 organ for sixty dollars. The amplifier in the back is a tube amp, with all the original RCA tubes in th...
