question
I have an opportunity to grab up a Peavey classic 50 head. It mostly works. The only knob that does anything is the master volume. Every other knob has no effect whatsoever... The guy says it has been modded to only have one "bluesy" tone. I though it might be a good project. My question is: Since i...

New question;
I have an opportunity to grab up a Peavey classic 50 head. It mostly works. The only knob that does anything is the master volume. Everything seems to have no effect. My question is: Since it seems to have working transformers, a chassis, and a cabinet; Do you guys think it would be worth maybe $100...

Re: A Dumble Book !
Really? I thought he was dead. Well that is a good thing then. I would never wish death on anyone (except my mother in law, lol/JK), but I honestly just read somewhere a month or two ago he croaked... glad to be wrong!

That sucks. I'd really like to build one of those. Does anyone know what amp this guy worked his circui...

Thanks!
yeah, I've really been thinking of a kit. I bought some pcb's for an SLOCLone. But am saving them until I know what I'm doing more. I have alot of soldering experience. But I know that doesn't qualify me to build tube amps. I know the voltages are deadly also. Zapped myself real good looking at a gu...

Noob needs help
Hey fellas, So I've been snooping around amp sites forever now. And I am finally ready to attempt something. I need some sound advice on books. I can't afford to buy a whole lot of books at once. So I was hoping to pinpoint anywhere from maybe 1-4 books that could get a guy well on his way to buildi...
