There really is no need to add another stage to those amps. You can mess with the values and get plenty of gain. It depends on what you want it to do. More gain in what frequency band. I had a 1969? Fender Twin reverb with those and it was loud and clear but broke up nicely when I turned it up. Good tone too.....

Those speakers are awesome.
