Re: 200W Steel String Singer Build--What PT?

Hi, I had a chance to try out the Fender 300PS (300wRMS)with a Strat through a 4x10 bass cab with 98db/w Celestions about a week ago. It sounded really nice when switched to the bass voicing. The guitar voicing wasn´t too pleasing IMHO. The amp had a cool SRV vibe to it and I have to say that it was...

Re: New amp

Man that screening is sweet. Is this second amp a Hiwatt clone? Looking forward to your screen printing tutorial. The second one is not a Hiwatt clone. Only the idea for the layout is from Dave Reeves. I like it more than the Fender style layout. A Fender is easier to mod, but the Hiwatt sty...

Re: New amp

Thanks for the comments, The reason why I got rid of the amp so fast is that it was ordered from me in the first place, and I kept the new owner waiting for almost two years. He was rather patient though. I think the waiting time for a Dumble was even longer. For some strange reason I happen t...

New amp

Hello, I have been reading this forum for a quite a long time but haven´t posted anything yet. This autumn I finally finished my first Dumble inspired amplifier and here is the result. I call her Santa Cruz 50 Reverb. It took me almost two years to build. My goal was to build an amplifier with the D...

Re: Hot Rod Deluxe hums

I just fixed a Blues Deville reissue which was making an awful cracking noise. One of the IC 22/500 caps had a broken leg. It took a while to figure it out because the caps are glued to the PCB and the crack was not visible. HH

Re: type reverb

I´ve been planning to use the old transformerless Ampeg reverbrocket circuit modified to 9-pin double triodes in my D-inspired built in the near future... Does anyone here have an idea how the mixer will behave with OD switched on?

Re: taming the treble in t-wreck inspired amp

Hi,

I was wondering if putting a relatively big resistor(68K-470K Try using a pot first) from the junction of the 2nF/150K to the grid of the third stage would help. The miller capacitance would cut some highs. ???

More about the issue miller at http://www.aikenamps.com/MillerCapacitance.html

Re: Wrapping versus shielded cable?

I have used George L´s guitar cable. I have never measured it or anything but it works for me. It has a reputation of being (overly) bright cable.
