Re: Creating the 30 deg angle for a Fender princton Rev chassis

Why not build the cab without the chamfer and then cut it on a table saw afterward?

Re: SS rectifier with parallel caps

My understanding from something i read a while ago is that UF-type diodes do not need snubber caps, but I'm not sure if the voltage balancing effect would still be desirable.

It does, but the capacitive reactance of the typical 10n used in that way is 265k ohms, two in series 530k.

Re: errors on the forum last couple of days...

This is annoying and unfortunate. I imagine that fixing it requires some expense, and may increase the cost of keeping the forum up and running going forward, which the owner is not willing to absorb. Ads or member subscriptions (neither of which anybody wants), are potential sources of funding. A s...

Re: So I tried this on my 2nd Gen…

Good reference for 2nd Gen tweakers and Ultraphonix mods. There is a ton of info on this site, not always easy to find, unfortunately.

Looking good, and I like that you are using the test-as-you-go method for the smoke testing.

Re: Peavey Mace 320T Screen Resistors

Screen resistors have two main functions. One is to limit current at high power, and the other is to suppress high frequency oscillation. For the latter, it's best to locate the resistors as close to the screen pins as possible, and the resistance can be relatively low, i.e. 100 ohms. In this amp th...

Re: reverb tank mounting

You will need a bag to prevent feedback. Typically the tank is slipped into the bag and the bag is attached to the floor of the amp cabinet. I can recommend Tuki reverb tank covers.

Are you looking for preamp or power tube sockets? Belton octals are larger than the ones used by Fender so they are out.

Re: Who is just starting a ODS build?

McMaster-Carr sells G10 in various thicknesses and sizes. I would go with 1/16" thickness and use 0.090" length eyelets.
