Re: Output transformer for fender reverb unit RI
Well, it was the transformer after all. My tech installed reverb transformer from Twin reverb, it works now, sounds good, but I'm not sure if that's OK in the long run. What do you guys think?

Re: Output transformer for fender reverb unit RI
Thanks guys. If tank is the problem, is this one a correct replacement?

Output transformer for fender reverb unit RI
My 90's fender reverb unit doesn't have reverb anymore, only dry signal. I checked the tank, looks good, swapped tubes, didn't help, so I'm taking it to service. So, just in case I'd need an output transformer, which one would you recommend? I found this one, it says it's for 6g15, but I'd like to k...

Re: ClassicTone # 40-18088 with four 6v6 tubes?
at the moment, it's a 30 watt, 2x5881 amp, (sort of cross between fender super 5d4 and magnatone 260), but it has 4 output sockets (long stroy :)). Plate voltage is around 400V. If that's at all possible, I thought I'll just put four 6v6 in it and adjust the bias circuit. Kinda love the 6v6 tubes la...

late 70's UL super reverb speaker impedance
Does anyone have this amp? I'd like to know the individual speaker impedance for this amp, schematic says 16 Ohms: http://schematicheaven.net/fenderamps/cbs_70w_mstrvol_pullsw_super-pro-bmstr_rev.pdf But I have four 8 Ohm speakers (they look stock, blue fender label, CTS I guess) in my amp, parallel...

Re: grid leak bias in 5f1 - NFB question
I would just like to hear how does it sound. :) Here's that post from tdpri: "Here's How: Ground both 12AX7 cathodes (pins 3 and 8 ). After the pair of 68K resistors, connect to where they intersect and are joined - a .022uF capacitor between them and the input grid at pin 2. Then - also from pin 2 ...

grid leak bias in 5f1 - NFB question
Hello, I would like to try grid leak biasing (.022 caps go to grids, grid leaks are 5M and cathodes are grounded) on both preamp stages in my homemade 5f1 Champ just to hear how it sounds. As cathodes are grounded and if NFB stays in place (on the second cathode), it's grounded too. Do I leave it as...

Re: Help on new #40 build
It looks like the NFB resistor and output grid leak resistors are not soldered?
