Noel the picture you show is correct for me, but the angle of rotation that the tranny has turned is 1/4 of a full turn, which for mine is 360/4 = 90, i may be on the wrong track, if so please tell me so, and i wasn't trying to be a smart ass.

Geoff, you are not seeing a large drop because like I said, your output stage is biased in class A and therefore pulling a large current at idle. Turn up the volume, and the average screen current draw won't change much, so the voltage across the 1k resistor won't change much. So dave what am i see...
