Re: Screen voltage compared to Plates
I know this is a design discussion and I enjoyed it tremendously. Thanks! On a practical note, we must also remember to instruct end users to let the amp cool before moving it. Screen deformation can occur buy moving an amp when the tubes are hot. Once the screen grid has sagged out of alignment it ...

Re: Tim Pierce and ODS #178
I looks like it's pointed at the surround rather than the cone. Outlines for emphasis:
I think he normally places the 57 nearer the center.

Re: Kitty Hawk (actual Dumble?) for sale
Is there consensus that the Kitty Hawk on Reverb is in fact an amp built by Dumble? Is this the earliest use of Tandy Wire & Cable coax? The amp pic I reposted for comparison has grey coax, which is consistent with other amps from that time period. I don't know why Kitty Hawk would have used Tandy c...

Re: Steel String Singer #005 build
If it were me I'd circle back with the person you bought it from and ask if they'd be willing to help you with the warranty. If they haven't registered it with the manufacturer you may be able to simply register it and submit it for repair.

Re: Dumbleland Special 150w ser#009 Schematic
This modded Bassman 135 is as close as I've ever come to Texas Flood tone--that includes my AN SSS (#005 circuit). I'm using a pair of EVM 12Ls and boosting the signal with a vintage MXR Microamp. Big, loud and majestic with a little bit of give when pushed. Like the SSS, though, there is nowhere to...
