Re: New 100W Build Complete- Low Output Power Problem

Thanks for the info guys. You've reassured me that it's not my build with some wierd problem. I did forget to mention that each tube is currently biased for around 35-40mA each and the voltage figures I posted were for that amount of biasing. I'm currently rewinding a power transformer that I have l...

Pics

Well, I've finally managed to take some pics of the new amp as well as some pics of the amp I built last year. Thanks for the tips on my low output power, it turned out that the transformer tap I was using was the incorrect one despite me following the wiring diagram from MOJO. Power output is still...

New 100W Build Complete- Low Output Power Problem

Hi there, I've just completed my second Dumble amplifier, this time a 4 tube 100w version following the ODS101 schematic. The amp sounds fantastic at the moment and much better than my previous build as that had a few compromises in it as far as layout and component types went. The only problem is t...

Been Tweaking-Some Observations

Hi there everyone, I've spent the last few late nights tweaking things in my HRM clone and as well as nearly pulling my hair out, observed some things that seem to be at odds with alot of the comments on this board. In particular, I've been trying to get my OD tone sounding sweeter after being inspi...

Re: Clip of my just completed HRM Dumble

Thanks for the feedback Dogears and Tonegeek, appreciate it very much. The schematic I have used is the ODS-101 and another schematic which is very similiar. I basicallyy downloaded about 5 different versions of the schematic which were all available here and went with the configuration most people ...

Re: Clip of my just completed HRM Dumble

Thanks Normster, appreciate the comments. Yeah, the pickups are just stock Ibanez. The guitar itself is quite a dark sounding thing compared to other 335's I've played. I also play a Tele quite regularly and that sounds great with plenty of highs too. I'm just a bit bothered with this gain distribut...

Re: Clip of my just completed HRM Dumble

Thanks, Matt and Jeph. Settings for the amp were as follows, OD drive at about 10 'oclock and Level up about 80%. HRM tone stack set: Treble around 40%, Bass at 50%, Mids at 40%. I've got a 12ax7 in the Dumbleator section and I think it has too much gain. I can't turn the Clean channel volume pot up...

Clip of my just completed HRM Dumble

Hi there, Just finished my Dumble clone last week and thought I'd post a clip of it in use on it's first night. Appreciate any comments on the Overdrive tone. It was recorded in a club I play at. Using a Ibanez 335 copy on the neck pickup. There are two guitars( A Strat also) but the Dumble is the s...

Low Output Power

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. Output tubes are biased at 35mA each. I have experimented with 32mA and up to 40mA each with little change. I'm getting around 46watts now with a transformer change so I think that was the problem. Should I be getting more power than that??? The output tubes...

New Build, Low Output Power, Any Ideas???

Hi there everyone, I've just finished building my first HRM 50Watt Dumble with the Dumbleator built in. The amp works well and sounds OK but I'm only getting around 30watts of output power as measured into a dummy load using an oscilloscope. Plate voltages are as follows: V1 210V V2 220V V3 1st Over...
