Re: Noob....Looking to try to build...

If you are serious about building one, why not sit back and absorb all the info first that is already posted here? That is my approach. I've been wanting to build a D clone for nearly 10 years, so I figured I would mainly stay in the background and study what is here until I feel confident enough in...

Re: A Collection of #124 Information (Schematics, Layout, etc.)

Dumb question, but is there a bill of materials list for someone who wants to build a #124 clone? I was going to go through the schematic and write it all down, but if there is a list that would be great. I tried the search function but there were so many results I couldn't find it.

Re: Ceriatone Overtone S&M Special

Hi Gil I still remember when you were building your first D clone many years ago, and discussing LC's tweed Dumble. You and Bill Morgan really piqued my interest in Dumbles. If it wasn't for you, I probably would have never shot the pix of #40 and posted the pix on the net. It really floors me when ...

Re: Trim Potis inside of the Ceriatone

The Ceriatone choke - seen on the photo below - just does have a DC resistance of 30 ohms and an inductivity of about 1.5H - after I've swapped in a Fender choke (022699) w/ a DC resistance of ~100 ohms and an inductivity of about 4H the amp's sound has been much more organic, smoother - the previo...

Re: What does the #40, or other early Dumbles sound like?

Is/was #40 anything special as far as Dumbles go? Nick I took the pix of #40 and played it, as I posted earlier in the thread. As I said, it needed new caps and tubes very badly. The sound reminded me a lot of early MkI Boogies. It certainly wasn't the best Dumble I played through. It would have be...

Re: What does the #40, or other early Dumbles sound like?

I took the pictures of #40 with a cheesy Sony Mavica camera 8-9 years ago, and also played through it. Guess I should have watermarked the pix back then - LOL To me, it sounded similar to a Mk I Boogie. The filter caps were pretty hammered in the amp, and it needed new tubes in the worst way, the tw...

Re: Dumble Pictures Archive update

Rob, Cool, I see the pictures of #0040 that I took a few years back are still around. A 'friend' of HAD asked me to take them off my photopoint page years ago so I am glad somebody has them online again. I wish I had a better camera back then, only had a crappy Sony Mavica at the time. That amp need...
