Re: How do you "trainwreck" an amp?
The preamp is pretty important to an amp, so whats parts of the trainwreck preamp can be used while being able to leave the rest of the preamp of the amp that you are "trainwrecking"?

Re: volume
thanks guys, previously i had a marshll TSL100 through a 1960AV cab and that sounded fine at room levels (considering its not a particularly good sounding amp IMO) but that had a master volume and a pentode/triode switch. I am not a fan of low wattage valve amps, i find that they just dont have the ...

Re: Cabs
that cab is very nice, love how the front is a different colour! i was thinking about finishing it in the same way a guiatr is done. Like a cherry burst les paul but no burst, just cherry. I think, if i can find a lighter piece of zebrano it should work swimmingly. I have never painted anything more...

Problem is, zebrano is quite a dark wood and i am worried that it wont quite come out how i would like. has anyone done a similar build? how did it turn out? what wood di...

Re: modding a ceriatone
if you think of distortion a sand, and crunchy over drive as boulders, then fizz is like dust and fluff. Similar to fuzz effect. AC30s can sound fizzy at times. Often the fizz is added at the recording stage when equipment clips or the mic is positioned poorly. Thanks for the help guys. If i do end ...

modding a ceriatone
Hello there, i have been looking at building a ceriatone express but judging by the videos on youtube, it sounds a little on the "fizzy" side. So i was wondering how they can be modded to be more like the originals. I assume the fizzyness is coming from a cold PI tail resistor and easy to fix, but t...

I dont have the expertise or the funding to build from scratch so i was wondering what you could recomend in the form of a kit. Ceriatone is the only place i can find such a kit but from the...
